As well as supporting schools, Orangery Education is involved in several activities involving the wider community. On this page is some of our current projects.
The Royalty Theatre Youth Academy meets for three hours every week on a Thursday evening, during which time over forty students between the ages of 12 and 20 gain an all-round understanding of the theatre, including lighting, sound and set design when preparing for a full-scale show. Orangery Education delivers the musical theatre element of RTYA, guiding students through vocal and instrumental work, research and composition of original music to accompany our productions. For more information on the Academy please click here.
South Tyneside ACL provides a range of adult and family learning activities in communities throughout South Tyneside. Orangery Education has recently been involved in the design and delivery of family learning courses, including courses specifically designed to allow adults and children to learn together and programmes that allow parents/carers to learn how to support their children’s learning. More information on the ACL service can be found here.
Linxs Consultancy Ltd provides practical and advisory consultancy, training and research services. One of their major projects involves the collection of A&E data following alcohol-related assault. The data is collected at the point of entry to the A&E department and is subsequently analysed, providing powerful intelligence to use in developing violent crime reduction strategies and alcohol awareness programmes. Orangery Education Ltd provides database design and training for the project, which is currently operational in the Midlands and South West of England. More information on the initiative can be found here (PDF 54 KB). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
